SubSync: Subscription Tracker ("SubSync", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, how it is protected, and the choices available to you.
Information We Process
SubSync processes certain information only to provide the features of the app. We do not collect or store this information on our own servers.
Information You Enter
When you manually create or edit subscriptions, SubSync processes information such as:
- Subscription name
- Merchant name
- Category
- Renewal date
- Billing amount
- Currency
- Reminder preferences
- Notes
This information is stored only on your device or within your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit (if iCloud Sync is enabled). We do not have access to this information.
Files You Choose to Import
You may choose to import screenshots or PDF invoices to help identify subscription information.

These files are processed only to extract relevant subscription details, such as the merchant name, subscription name, renewal date, billing amount, billing frequency, and currency.
Imported files are not uploaded to our servers, are not retained by us, and are not shared with third parties. Processing occurs only for the purpose of identifying subscription information for your use.
Gmail Data (Optional)
If you choose to connect your Google account, SubSync requests the Gmail Readonly (gmail.readonly) permission.
SubSync analyzes only subscription-related emails to identify information such as:
- Merchant name
- Subscription name
- Renewal date
- Billing amount
- Billing frequency
- Currency
- Free trial end date (when available)
We do not store Gmail messages or their contents on our servers. Extracted subscription information is stored only within your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We do not share Gmail data or extracted subscription information with any third-party service.
Google Sign-In
When you choose to use premium features such as automatic subscription detection and hidden subscription discovery, SubSync allows you to securely connect your Google Account using Google's official OAuth Sign-In.
Connecting your Google account is completely optional. You may continue using the app without signing in.
Gmail Access
After you explicitly grant permission, SubSync requests the gmail.readonly permission to identify subscription-related emails in your Gmail account.
We only analyze emails that help identify subscription information such as:
- Subscription confirmations
- Renewal reminders
- Payment receipts
- Invoices
- Free trial confirmations
From these emails, SubSync may extract:
- Merchant name
- Subscription name
- Renewal date
- Billing amount
- Billing frequency
- Currency
- Free trial end date (when available)
We do not:
- Read emails unrelated to subscriptions.
- Modify emails.
- Delete emails.
- Send emails.
- Compose emails.
- Share Gmail data with advertisers.
- Sell Gmail data.
- Use Gmail data for advertising.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used only to provide the functionality of SubSync, including:
- Managing subscriptions.
- Automatically detecting subscriptions.
- Finding hidden recurring subscriptions.
- Displaying renewal dates.
- Scheduling reminders.
- Providing subscription analytics.
- Currency conversion for subscription costs.
Data Storage
Subscription information extracted from Gmail is stored only within your personal Apple iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit.
We do not store Gmail content or extracted subscription information on our own servers.
We do not share Gmail data or extracted subscription information with any third-party services.

Frankfurter API
Currency exchange rates displayed within SubSync are retrieved using the Frankfurter API.
Only currency codes (for example, USD, EUR, INR, GBP) are transmitted when requesting exchange rates.
No Gmail data, subscription information, personal information, or user identity is shared with this service.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information, Gmail data, or subscription information with advertisers or marketing companies.
Information may only be disclosed when required by applicable law.
Google API Services Disclosure
SubSync's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your Choices
- You may use SubSync without connecting your Google account.
- You may disconnect Google Sign-In at any time.
- You may revoke Gmail access from your Google Account settings.
- You may delete your subscription data whenever you choose.
Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Children's Privacy
SubSync is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
